"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." — Carl Rogers
Erin Cusumano is a mental health counselor who is passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion and confidence. She believes that therapy is a collaborative process and strives to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where clients can make intentional, meaningful choices towards change.
Erin has experience working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, and major life transitions. She has provided therapy in outpatient, community-based, and school settings, giving her a well-rounded perspective on supporting clients. In an outpatient setting like City Therapy, Erin encourages clients to consider their social context including important relationships, culture, and other major influences on identity.
Her therapeutic approach is person-centered and strengths-based, meaning Erin views the client as a collaborator in planning and structuring what therapy will target and look like. Erin incorporates evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also facilitating psycho-education and self-exploration.
Erin is committed to meeting you where you are and helping you move toward greater healing, balance, and personal growth.
Erin received her Master of Mental Health Counseling from Lehigh University, holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Smith College, and began her studies at Northampton Community College where she received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Psychology.
